Abstract

This article is written to evaluate and lead the way on creating awareness about PIAAC and comparative results of 2nd round of it which included also Turkey. PIAAC is the Programme fort he International Assesment of Adult Competencies prepared and applied by OECD. At the conclusion report which Turkey is included in for the first time, data from Turkey compared with other 32 countries’ data and Turkey is ranked between 29th and 33rd in different surveys. So it is clear that there is a lot to do especially in developing basic skills of adults. Since we do not have any other referans data on the subject of adults’ basic skills, using PIAAC results as the referans will be appropriate
