Ekonomik Büyüme Üzerinde Fikri Mülkiyet Haklarının Etkisi: Ampirik Bir İnceleme

Year 2019, Volume: 3 Issue: 2, 261 - 278, 29.12.2019
https://doi.org/10.38122/ased.618383

Abstract

Bu
araştırmanın amacı, fikri mülkiyet haklarının ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki
etkisini incelemektir.

The Impact of Intellectual Property Rights On Economic Growth: An Empirical Study

Year 2019, Volume: 3 Issue: 2, 261 - 278, 29.12.2019
https://doi.org/10.38122/ased.618383

Abstract

The
purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of intellectual property rights
on economic growth. Panel data analysis method is employed to test the
hypotheses which developed for this purpose. The data set of the study covers
35 developed and 54 developing countries for the 1996-2010 period. According to
the empirical findings; the impact of intellectual property rights on economic
growth varies according to the level of development of countries. Effect of
intellectual property rights on economic growth is positive and statistically
significant in developed countries, whereas statistically significant
relationship has not been found between intellectual property rights and
economic growth in developing countries. These results indicate that the
expected homogenizing effect of the international agreements and conventions is
not currently shown. Therefore, especially in developing countries, the legal
arrangements regarding intellectual property rights should be implement
according to the needs of the inventors and entrepreneurs.
