ULUS GAZETESİ’NİN 1938 YILI İÇERİKLERİNDE KADIN TEMSİLİ

The research aims to reflect the issue of femininity in the process of transition from Empire to nationstate, the construction of new women formation the recommended daily life practices through the women, the efforts to create a new woman model with suggestions parallel to the Western woman, the importance of the press in making Turkish women visible and the photograph of the perception of women in the Young Republic as a result of the evaluation of the content of Ulus newspaper in 1938 by periodic readings. The main subject of this study is to show how the official ideology of the period was based on modernity and especially how it constituted women's citizens against this ideal. The main issue in the study is; the woman profile presented to the masses through the media in the first fifteen years of the Republic thanks to Ulus Newspaper, which is the official newspaper of the regime in 1938, is the female profile presented to the masses through the media.
